Our good friend Robert wanted to flex his Dungeon Master muscles again, so he wrote a relatively short adventure. He's actually been taking two separate parties of three characters each through it - I think he's enjoyed seeing the different ways each party deals with the challenges! This gave me a good opportunity to play a character again, after a long time of DM'ing (Adventures of the Nerdy Gamers), and Heather was keen to try out a different class too.
We decided to run three characters between the two of us - that pretty much meant I would be playing as two characters, but we made one of them a dwarf barbarian so he is very much a 'smash, kill, angry all the time' kinda guy so pretty straightforward 🤣
I've recorded our adventure from the point of view of Bori Ironhelm, a dwarf Cleric of the Forge. He's a bit more level-headed than his barbarian cousin. I hope you enjoy his journal...
The adventure begins, fittingly, with a delicious breakfast at the Briar Rose Inn, where the adventurers are tasked with their initial quest to investigate the area to the north of the small town of Birch Vale.
After some success in their initial investigations, the adventurers descend into an ancient tomb...
An esoteric device transports the adventurers to parts unknown.
Still only three days into their quest, the adventurers find that things are getting more complicated and they set off once more to explore the wildlands to the north.
Further exploration of mine workings and tunnels suits the two dwarfs in the party well, before they head off into the open air once again.
Journeying across the frozen wastes, with further mysteries found beneath the ice.
The end is nigh. Some questions are answered, some questions remain. The final chapter of the current adventure!
Ambushed by strange men, it appears that there is more yet to do. The adventure continues!
